Overview

Itinerary

Day 1: Exploration Day

Begin your adventure in in Siem Reap, spending the first day exploring the ancient temple complex of Angkor Wat. This place is massive, so we’ll get a local guide and explore on our motorcycles. There are some fantastic waterfalls and lakes in the area, and we’ll be sure to check them out in addition to all the old religious structures.
Ride north from Siem Reap through jungles and on some great trails, all the way up to the town of Preah Vihear, very near the border of Thailand. We will visit small hidden temples in the jungle as well as the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot’s burial site. The town was named after a really cool clifftop temple, which we’ll definitely make time to visit.
This part of northern Cambodia is extremely remote, and boasts some of the best adventure riding in the country. The route east to Tbeng Meanchey has some great trails, often rocky and steep, as well as a couple of fun river crossings and many hidden temples!
Heading south again through the hills, we arrive in Kampong Thom, Cambodia’s second-largest province. Kampong Thom is famous for its Angkorian influence, and one of the most interesting of these is Prasat Koh Ker Temple, a ruin hidden deep in the forest. The trail ride there is as much fun as visiting the temple itself.
Ton Le Sap is the huge lake in the middle of Cambodia. We’ll cross it by ferry on our way south to Chrok La Eng, a remote area that’s home to a fantastic waterfall.
Choam is the midpoint on our journey from the lakeside down to Kirirom National Park, and is situated in another fairly remote part of Cambodia. We take the remote jungle route so be preapred. Spend the night there in a traditional homestay, to get a real feel for the local way of living.
Ride through jungle and over mountain trails on your way to Kirirom, arguably Cambodia’s most beautiful national park. Extremely biodiverse and covered in an absolutely massive rainforest, this place is amazing.
The way back east to Phnom Penh is pretty flat, but there are a few good trails to explore, mostly through rice fields and small villages. The city itself, while unbelieveably busy, is home to some fantastic bars and restaurants, a great place for our farewell meal.

South from the Jungle FAQ

For our Cambodia tours, we use the Honda CRF250. With a lot of off-road riding through jungle trails, dirt roads, and remote villages, this bike is purpose-built for the terrain. It’s lightweight, reliable, and handles tough conditions with ease, making it the perfect choice for the kind of adventure Cambodia offers.

The best time to ride in Cambodia is between November and April, when the weather is dry and the trails are in great condition. Avoid the wet season (May to October), when heavy rains can flood roads and make off-road sections tricky.

This tour features the awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat and its stunning surroundings, plus thrilling rides through jungles near Lake Tonle Sap and Phnom Penh. Expect river crossings, secluded mountain trails, and a true adventure through Cambodia’s most remote and scenic landscapes.

While helpful, it’s not always mandatory. Our tours are designed to accommodate different skill levels, with support and guidance provided throughout.

We have a selection of gloves, helmets and jackets however we strongly encourage riders to bring their own gear to ensure the most comfortable possible riding experience.

Guides speak English and are knowledgeable about local culture and terrain to assist you throughout the tour.
