Frequently Asked Questions

Vietnam Motorcycle Tours + Rentals

Rentals

We offer 3 different rental packages, designed for riders with different requirements:

  • Tourist Rental is our most popular offering. There is no mileage limit, no minimum rental period, and you’re free to ride wherever you like within Vietnam!
  • One-Way Rental is identical to our Tourist Rental package except, for an additional charge of either $75, $100 or $200 (depending on size of motorcycle) you’re free to begin and end your rental in different cities.
  • Expat Rental is designed for riders who are living and working in Vietnam. It’s a highly cost-effective way of getting around. Expat rentals are subject to a mileage limit of 1,500km, and you’re limited to the city in which you rented your motorcycle rental and its immediate vicinity.

When booking a Tourist or One-Way Rental, you’ll be given the option to hire one of our professional guides, who’ll accompany you on your adventure for only $120/day.

This can be a fantastic option for groups of riders looking get a similar experience to that of one of our guided all-inclusive motorcycle tours at a significantly lower cost.

Your guide will accompany your group on tour, collaborating with you on:

  • Route planning
  • Translation (this is a big one)
  • Motorcycle maintenance
  • Booking accommodation
  • Finding the best places to eat

Think of him or her as another tour member, an experienced motorcyclist with extensive local knowledge there to support your group all the way.

As an added bonus, we don’t require security deposits from groups of riders who ride with one of our guides.

Yes, we require 50% of your rental fee to confirm your booking.

We also require a Security Deposit for all rentals (unless you ride with a guide). You don’t need to pay this when you book: we’ll collect it from you when you pick up your motorcycle.

  • For Tourist Rentals, we require a deposit of either $500 or $1,000, depending on the motorcycle, or your passport.
  • For One-Way Rentals, we require a deposit of either $500 or $1,000, depending on the motorcycle. We don’t accept passports as deposits for One-Way Rentals because there’s no easy way to return your passport to you when you drop your motorcycle off in another city.
  • For Expat Rentals, all we require is one month’s rental fee. Bear in mind that if you leave your passport with us as a deposit, it must be valid and contain the visa with which you entered Vietnam. Many of our customers prefer doing things this way and, so long as you keep a photocopy or a photo of it when you’re travelling, you’ll have no problem checking in to hotels.

The Damage Waiver, available for Tourist and One-Way Rentals, absolves you of responsibility should you damage your motorcycle.

It does not cover:

  • 3rd party damages;
  • loss or theft;
  • repair of flat tyres or (additional) oil changes;
  • loss of spare parts, such as inner tubes;
  • damage through flooding, fire damage, vandalism or natural disasters;
  • personal injury or loss of personal belongings;
  • transport of your motorcycle to our office should you crash the bike and it becomes unrideable.

Disclaimers:

  • The Damage Waiver is non-refundable.
  • The Damage Waiver is only valid if you inform us first, before having repairs carried out while on the road.
  • If you do not return your motorcycle to us, it will be considered lost or stolen. The Damage Waiver will not be applied you will be liable for the value of the stolen motorcycle.

Yes, we have a massive selection of helmets for you to choose from. These are provided at no extra charge.

Yes, all are available on request at no extra charge.

We also provide tank bags and waterproof bags. Again, at no extra charge, however, these are subject to availability.

All our riders are given a walkthrough of the controls on their motorcycles. If necessary, we’ll also give you a primer on riding in Vietnam, at no extra charge.

Naturally, this is no substitute for formal training or experience riding in-country.

Sure, our number’s (+84) 904 392 423. If you have any problems give us a call and we’ll do whatever we can to help, whether it be with directions, translations or negotiating prices.
