1. Motorcycle Rentals
1.1 Types of Rental
- Tourist Rental: No mileage limit, no minimum rental period. Ride anywhere in Vietnam. A refundable security deposit is required (cash or passport). Check rental pages for pricing and details.
- One-Way Rental: Same as Tourist Rental but allows pickup and drop-off in different cities. Additional surcharges apply based on motorcycle size. Not all bikes are available at all locations. Passport deposits are unavailable; cash deposits are refunded via bank transfer.
- Expat Rental: Designed for long-term residents. Mileage limits apply, and usage is restricted to the city and nearby areas. A security deposit equal to one month’s rental is required, along with proof of employment and address.
1.2 Gear Rental
- Helmets, phone holders, USB chargers U-locks and luggage racks are provided free of charge with all motorcycles.
- We carry a selection of additional types of gear in our inventory, for example, top boxes, side boxes and some items of protective clothing. These are provided free of charge also, but subject to availability.
1.3 Optional Damage Waiver
For Tourist and One-Way Rentals, an optional damage waiver is available. The Damage Waiver absolves you of responsibility should you damage your motorcycle.
It does not cover:
- Third-party damages
- Loss or theft
- Repair of flat tires or (additional) oil changes
- Loss of spare parts, such as inner tubes
- Damage through flooding, fire, vandalism, or natural disasters
- Personal injury or loss of personal belongings
- Transport of your motorcycle to our office if it becomes unrideable due to a crash
Disclaimers:
- The Damage Waiver is non-refundable.
- It is only valid if you inform us first before having repairs carried out while on the road.
- If you do not return your motorcycle, it will be considered lost or stolen. The Damage Waiver will not apply, and you will be liable for the full value of the motorcycle.
1.4 Professional Guides
- Available for Tourist and One-Way Rentals.
- Guides assist with route planning, translation, motorcycle maintenance, accommodation booking, and dining recommendations.
- Additional fees apply; check rental pages for pricing.
- No security deposit is required for groups riding with a guide.
2. Payment Terms
2.1 Security Deposits
- Tourist Rental: Refundable deposit (cash or passport held until motorcycle is returned in original condition).
- One-Way Rental: Only cash deposits are accepted for One-Way rentals. These are returned via bank transfer.
- Expat Rental: Security deposit equal to one month’s rental.
2.2 Payment Methods
- Accepted: Cash (major currencies), credit/debit cards, and bank transfers (UK transfers available with no extra fees).
2.3 Currency
- Prices quoted in VND or USD. Exchange rates apply based on the payment date.
- Any bank or transaction fees are the customer’s responsibility.
3. Special Offers
The following offers are available on all Tourist and One-Way motorcycle rentals of bikes up to and including 150cc displacement:
- Rent 6 days, get the 7th free.
- Rent 3 weeks, get a 4th week free.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
4.1 Cancellation by Rentabike Vietnam
- We may cancel rentals in exceptional cases (e.g., extreme weather, unforeseen events).
- Full refund or alternative rental date will be offered.
4.2 Cancellation by Customers
- Tourist & One-Way Rentals: Cancellations within 24 hours of rental or after rental begins incur a 100% charge.
- Expat Rentals: Deposits non-refundable if cancelled within 30 days of the rental date.
4.3 Refunds
- No refunds are offered for unused rental periods.
- If returning a motorcycle early in a different city, the renter covers transportation costs.
5. Motorcycle and Gear Condition
5.1 Motorcycle Condition
- Must be returned in the same condition as rented (normal wear and tear accepted).
- Repair costs for damage will be deducted from the security deposit.
- If repairs exceed the deposit, the customer covers the remaining balance.
5.2 Gear Condition
- Customers are responsible for rented gear.
- If gear is damaged or lost, the full purchase price must be paid.
6. Customer Responsibilities
- Valid License: Must have an appropriate motorcycle license.
- Skill Level: Must be capable of safely operating the rented motorcycle.
- Legal Compliance: Must follow all Vietnamese traffic laws and regulations.
7. Liability and Risk Acknowledgement
- Motorcycling involves inherent risks (accidents, injuries, etc.).
- By renting, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
- Rentabike Vietnam is not liable for injuries, accidents, or losses during the rental period.
- A liability waiver must be signed before rental begins.
8. Force Majeure
- Rentabike Vietnam is not responsible for cancellations or changes due to unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics).
- Alternative arrangements may be offered, but refunds are not guaranteed.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of Vietnamese courts.
