The air quality in Vietnam is decreasing, and as a result pollution masks are becoming ever more important. When riding a motorbike in Vietnam, it is evident how polluted the air in major cities is. Without a mask, you can literally taste the chemicals in the air. Major cities aside, it is also important to protect yourself from the dusty roads and air off the beaten track.
To learn more about the way in which pollution is affecting Vietnam, read our Pollution in Vietnam post.
In short, we believe that all of our customers should take the utmost precautions to protect their health when riding a motorbike. Nowadays, this isn’t just protecting yourself from the impact of an accident. But also the increasing negative effects caused by pollution exposure. As a result, we stock a wide range of different pollution masks in our stores across Vietnam.
Our pollutions masks have been carefully chosen to ensure that the utmost protection is provided. The masks we have in store vary greatly in price and efficiency. As a result, we have put together this blog post to help you decide which is the best for you.
In our stores, we stock both the Cambridge Basic and Cambridge Pro range of pollution masks. Both masks vary in price and efficiency. Below we will highlight how the two differ to help you decide which is best for you.
Cost: 1,200,000VND ($51)
New to the pollution protection scene, the Cambridge Mask Pro is one of the most efficient and effective masks on the market. It was designed by the brains behind the very popular Vogmask but is a much better quality product. Due to its high-quality filter protection and use of carefully sourced materials, this product provides the utmost protection for a reasonable price. In fact, it offers almost 100% protection from pollution. And to top it off, it is more affordable than it’s major competitors!
Despite the fact that the Cambridge Mask Pro is the most expensive in our range, it is still our most popular mask! You simply cannot put a price on your own health and protection. The mask itself is attractive, fitted and practical for use during travel.
Ideal for long term use, this mask can be washed and used again and again. As a result, it is a great purchase for expats living in Hanoi.

Cost: 399,000VND ($17)
The N99 Mesh Pollution Mask is an affordable option to battle air pollution when riding a motorbike in Vietnam. The comfortable and durable mesh material used to create the mask is able to filter harsh chemicals from pollution. The use of a filter enables easy breathing, whilst still providing high-quality protection.
As a more affordable option, the N99 Mesh Pollution Mask is suitable for long term use. However, the mask will deteriorate with each wash. More suitable for high protection over short term use. Although, the filters can be bought and replaced if needed.
Cost: 145,000VND ($7)
As one of our more basic options in-store, the Protective N95 Pollution Mask offers high-quality protection over a short period of time. Materials used have been designed to filter up to 95% of harsh chemicals found in pollution. However, the mask itself is not designed to be washed and used over a long period of time.
Ideal for those wanting high protection for a short period of time for a low cost. However, much like the N99 pollution mask, filters can be replaced if needed.
Cost: 89,000VND ($4)
As our most basic and affordable option in-store, the PM 2.5 Pollution Mask offers protection from up to 95% of pollution, dust, and gases. With an added plastic filter to ensure the ease of breath without affecting pollution protection quality. The mask offers high-quality protection for basic short term use.
Made 100% from cotton, the mask is comfortable and soft. Suitable for those needing protection over a short period.
