Itinerary

Day 1: Ha Giang - Lung Cu

a view of Duong Thuong Valley, Ha Giang
After a 320 km overnight bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang, we kick off the tour with breakfast and hit the famous Happiness Road. Our first stop is Bac Sum Pass for coffee and photos, then we climb to Heaven’s Gate for stunning views of Quan Ba and the Fairy Mountains. If time allows, we’ll hike to Lung Khuy Cave before stopping for lunch in Yen Minh.

Riding through the Yen Minh Pine Forest, we descend into the valley and admire the winding Tham Ma Pass, where we can grab local souvenirs. Next, we visit the Hmong King’s Palace and pass Xa Phin market on our way to Lung Cu Flag Tower, riding through sunflower fields as it comes into view.

We start the day with a steaming bowl of noodle soup before a quick visit to the local ethnic market. From there, we ride the stunning Ma Pi Leng Pass, soaking in its incredible views. Taking smaller roads toward Quan Ba, we’ll experience local daily life, stop for breathtaking views, and learn about the area’s colonial history, including a visit to a French fort.

Next, we ride through Duong Thuong Valley, navigating switchbacks to Lung Tam village, where we explore traditional brocade weaving and shop for unique souvenirs. Our day ends with delicious food and local ‘firewater’ in an ethnic Dao village.

On our final day, we ride through Lung Tam Valley, following the scenic Mien River with its tall waterfalls and stunning views. Along the way, we stop at a mini Ma Pi Leng Canyon for coffee before arriving in Ha Giang.

Here, we visit Waterfall No. 6 for a refreshing swim and enjoy lunch with a local Tay family. Afterwards, we return to the hotel to relax and prepare for the overnight bus back to Hanoi.

3-Day Ha Giang Loop Tour FAQ

Absolutely! You’re welcome to mix and match all three modes of transport: Easy Rider, self-drive, and jeep. This flexibility allows everyone in your group to choose their preferred way of travelling—whether riding as a passenger, driving themselves, or enjoying the comfort of the jeep.

As standard, accommodation is in shared dorm-style rooms at authentic local homestays, offering a true taste of rural Vietnam. For an additional $15 per night per person, you can upgrade to a private room for more comfort and privacy. Yes, you can self-drive as long as you have a valid home license and an International Driving Permit.

For riders on motorcycles, we provide the standard safety equipment: helmet, elbow and knee pads, raincoat, and rain cover for your luggage.

Yes, transport is included. We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and take you to the bus for your overnight journey to Ha Giang.
